Where have I been?

Well, December was a write off with me getting Chicken Pox...then there was Christmas, and then there were school holidays and kids and mayhem.  Life was supposed to get back to normal when the kids went back to school, not sure what happened there!
On to scrappy goodness...I did manage to squeeze in a couple of projects, first up is a layout for Scraptivate:-

This was all about Noah's first piece of artwork on his first day at Kinder...my little boy was growing up.  I just love the Pink Paislee 'Old School' range of papers and embellishments.  My backing sheet of kraft has been given a few sprays of Tsuineko Walnut ink spray and also stamped.  I sprayed my favourite CorreBoard alphas (AZ13) with Tsuineko Eucalyptus spray and gave the chipboard stars (new product - Seeing Stars CH436) a good going over with ink.  The photo has been mounted on a sheet of Craft CorreBoard to give it that extra pop.

For Feb, I created a pretty fairy piece using Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime papers, some yummy smooch ink, Green Tara flowers and a gorgeous charm all from Scraptivate

I used the Large Nadine Hanging (CH430), which I inked, stamped and clear embossed for a high gloss finish.  Mini Antique Lowercase alphas were used to create "Life", and I used "fairytale" from our Fairytales word trio.  Also used are our yummy new Large Foliage, Iron Gate Small, Triple Lamp Post Large, and Fairy 1 small.

Here are some close ups...
There we have it...scrappy bits are all caught up!

More soon...promise.

Sadness...

It is with a very heavy heart that tonight I burn my candle for the lives lost back home.  I still call New Zealand home, even after being here for 15 years.  I would still jump on a plane if any of my Family or Whanau were sick, or needed me...it's just what you do.

Tonight at 9pm, I lit my candle and it will burn all night...

Plus, my puppy is not well...poor Gizmo has his vaccinations today and it appears he has had an allergic reaction...we headed back to the vet and he has been given more meds to help him through, but this is him tonight...not normal at all.

Poor pup...let's hope tomorrow is a brighter day and I will have some scrappy goodness to show you.

The journey taken...

Welcome to my personal blog... This is where I will put my work and my thoughts out there for the world to see.  Please excuse me if sometimes I rant and rave, you see I lead a very very mad world.  Between racing around running Scrapware, being a wife and a mother of two gorgeous boys, managing a Ringwood Hawks Rep basketball team with Mark, getting to 3 basketball training sessions and 3 games a week...there leaves little time for much else!  I will squeeze in as much creativity as I can as this keeps my sanity levels manageable...

My journey has been interesting in this industry and I've hit a fork in the road.  I have for the longest time created projects first for classes and then my business and lastly for me.  I am excited to say that the lovely Natalie from Scraptivate has asked me to be on her Design Team (squeal!!!!), so I am heading down another path.  I am so looking forward to being part of the team and showing you my creations...woo hoo!

I have already done a couple of projects for Scraptivate as Natalie sent me a care package a few weeks back and opening it felt just like Christmas!  Here is my first project:

Using 7 Gypsies Conservatory papers and some beautiful German Scrap, I teamed them up with our new Mini Shadow Box (KT62), a small Nadine Frame (CH318) and some small butterfly wings (LB10)...the result is just divine.

Time to dash...much to do!
